Kyle Larson committed Larson-ey, as he won in dominating fashion today at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The defending NASCAR Champion, Chase Elliot, was looking very strong at the beginning of the race, but problems befell the champ again. This time it was due in part to a jack that was used in an early pit stop, and also a spin. Joey Logano was looking for three straight wins at Vegas, but his bid came up snake eyes as he was trying to win back to back races for his sponsor. Sometimes it’s not because of the crew chief. Joey came in thinking that he was going to win, but not even a Wolf could help him howl at the moon. As for Kyle Larson, he also made history today when the car he took to victory lane displayed the first number Hendrick had ever owned. After being so close, but yet so far away with 7-time, crew chief Cliff Daniels did not fall off the cliff this time like he did in Jimmie Johnson’s final season. This time, Daniels got the sweet thrill of victory, that happened to be with some of the 48’s old team when Jimmie was driving. This is two wins in a row for Hendrick Motorsports, who got the win last week with William Byron. Who knows if the sun will shine on Elliot again like it did in December when he was crowned king of NASCAR?
