Last Wednesday February 19th, after the game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Indiana Pacers, I got the chance to visit with the former Purdue Boilermaker and current Minnesota Timberwolves player Robbie Hummel. Robbie is a native of Valparaiso, Indiana. I asked Robbie what it was like to play college basketball at Purdue, and Hummel stated “Coach Painter expects players to work hard, but you also have a lot of friends on the team.” When it came to the NBA, Hummel said that he “always tried to work hard coming off the bench, because you never know when you are going to be called upon to play.” I also asked him if there was ever a chance for him to become a Pacer. He said “if the Wolves didn’t want me any more and the chance was there.”
