The Indiana Pacers are set to open their season on Wednesday against the Washington Wizards at the Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. First round draft pick Benedict Mathurin has a chance to be the next Reggie Miller if he can stay away from fouls. Malcolm Brogdon was inexcusably traded to the Boston Celtics. It doesn’t help when you give away pieces of your puzzle. Mark Boyle and Eddie Gill can look forward to another crappy season when they go to work. Maybe the Pacers will surprise this reporter and win an NBA championship, but all signs point to another dismal season.
