Fargo, ND. On game day, the Dome is usually packed with “Let’s Go Bison” but on Friday, it was time for the 29th annual Dakota Bowl. The Cavalier Tornadoes were unable to form any funnel clouds whatsoever, and lost to L-L-M 42-14 in 9 man. It was also time for a new bird to soar over the state. In 11A action, the Jamestown Bluejays were able to soar over the St. Mary’s Saints 41-27. In other news, it was time to let the Sheyenne Mustangs run to their first ever title in the state of North Dakota, after being shut out the two prior years by Bismarck Century. The Mustangs were able to gallop to a convincing 27-7 clippity clop win over the West Fargo Packers. Bismarck Century’s Lukas Schweigert was named The Powerade State Senior Athlete of the Year for Class AA Football. Head coach of the year went to Jeremy Newton from the Sheyenne Mustangs.
