Minneapolis, MN. When you finish in 9th place in the Big Ten, and can’t even beat the Gators, this is the result that you will get. Let’s take a look at what might have been Tubby’s undoing. There are several reasons why I feel the Gophers made the right decision. “A” you couldn’t compete with the Hoosiers, and “B” you couldn’t put together a winning program. You’re not in Kentucky anymore Tubby! If anybody should have been fired, I would have thought it would have been Matt Painter at Purdue. I think that because we expect winning at Purdue. It’s like Purdue wasn’t even on the map this year. As far as where the Gophers can go from here, I don’t have any ideas as to who will replace Tubby. There is a lot of speculation that it will be former Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders. Sometimes you will have situations where it will look like a good move in the beginning, but in the end it will crumble. Many of you know from reading this website that it’s all about team unity for me! I’m not going to speculate who I think Minnesota will have their eyes on to replace Tubby, it’s just not the kind of reporter that I am. Only time will tell.
