Indianapolis, Indiana. As the calendar slowly winds its way towards Feburary, and towards the All Star game in New Orleans, ladies and gentlemen may I present to you the 33-7 Indiana Pacers. Thats right folks, I am not talking about the defending champions, the Miami Heat, or the LA Lakers, or the Chicago Bulls for that matter. I am talking about Frank Vogel’s Indiana Pacers ladies and gentlemen. I think that the Pacers get little press if any, so who are these Pacers, you ask? They were built by one of the greatest NBA players of all time “Larry The Legend”. The Pacers still have a long way to go before any NBA hardware comes to Indy. This may be the best Pacers team that I have seen since I have been on this planet. I am talking about almost 33 years in June. It certainly looks like nobody can keep pace with the Pacers, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Bobby Leonard is crying in June, and I mean that in a good way. When Commissioner Silver comes to town to present the Larry O’Brien Trophy in front of all the Pacers fans, and they announce the Pacers as the real champions, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few tears come out of the old ball coach, or Boyle for that matter. I say that because I think that they deserve it. How can you not be impressed with the performance that you see night after night from the Pacers? I think that a lot of credit should go to Frank Vogel, because he has out worked all of his other coaching master minds. That would also include Eric from Miami. The Pacers are now four games ahead of the Heat in the Eastern Conference standings. The more the Pacers keep winning the more it bothers Eric, because he can’t do anything about it, and I love it. Miami comes to Indy so we can snatch your ring off your finger, and then you can go home and go play in the ocean. You can look for President Bird to be chirping in June. In the words of Slick Leonard “BOOM BABY”!
