Value City Arena, Columbus Ohio. Before the game started, I listened to the Ohio State Sports Network, where I heard Paul Keels talking to Head Buckeye Coach Chris Holtmann, and they were talking about their opponent for that night, the Purdue Boilermakers. Little did they know that a freshman was going to create a death on the tracks. Who knew that Jayden Ivey was going to get Rob Blackman, the new voice of Purdue basketball, excited? Ivey hit the fatal shot that killed the number 15 Buckeyes. They are number 15 no more, thanks to their neighbors to the west, and a Reggie Miller impersonation. Ivey had this reporter wanting to sing “Hail to Old Purdue” because it’s rare that you upset a team with a number in front of their name. If you have a number, that indicates you are usually pretty good, but this night was about a nation that wears black and gold, and doesn’t care who they play right now. Folks, this is a train that cannot be stopped, and will never succumb to any other team in the Big 10. They had a huge week, and it all started with an upset in East Lansing and one of Father Time’s best coaches, Tom Izzo. That win showed you that the Boilermaker Nation is one tough nation. They don’t even care whether they play at Mackey Arena South in Bloomington. Next up for the Boilers is hail to the losers, Mee-chigan. They have a number in front of their name, too, which means the Boilers are going to have to play a tough son of a gun brand of basketball, and not give a darn about the uniform of the team they are playing.
