With Sunday’s game a thing of the past, the USA is forced to look ahead to their final game in group play, which is on Thursday against Germany.
Germany has the same number of points as the United States of America.

In Sunday’s game, it took Portugal five minutes into the game before they would score. The score happened off of USA’s own goal. The score would remain 1-0 for quite a while. The USA can thank their lucky stars and stripes that they have Tim Howard, because I think without him the USA could have been blown out of the game. In the second half, it was a totally different story. It was all red, white, and blue. The USA didn’t score until they were in 65 minutes, and that’s when Jermaine Jones tied the game at one. Then Clint Dempsey looked like he had put Portugal’s dream to bed when he scored what I had thought was the game winning goal, but unfortunately Portugal ended up tying the game at two. I blame Portugal tying the game on Michael Bradley, because he gave the ball away.
