For the Florida Panthers, it was time to lift Lord Stanley. On Monday night, it was the final game of the 2024 hockey season. Sam Reinhardt scored the game winning goal that lifted Florida to the top of the hockey world. Florida got the first talley when Carter Verhaeghe blasted the puck by Stu Skinner, who happens to be a native of Edmonton. Edmonton tied the game at one on a breakaway goal by Matthias Janmark. It was the Cats’ first Stanley Cup in their 30 year history. It was also head coach Paul Maurice’s first Stanley Cup. Conor McDavid was named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner in a losing effort by the Oilers.
