On Sunday night, it was time to see if the Tigers could take two out of three from the Phillies. But Kyle Schwarber and the Philadelphia Phillies had other ideas. Charlie Morton made his Tigers debut, and went seven innings, but Johan Durán shut the roar up by getting the Tigers 1,2, and 3 in the ninth inning for a 2-0 shutout. AJ Hinch knows his team, and he knows what buttons to push to get them to roar. He should be manager of the year, in my opinion. AJ has plenty of other challengers for manager of the year, like Cleveland’s Steven Vogt.

This upcoming series with the Minnesota Twins, I expect the Tigers to show their teeth and jump all over Minnesota. That series the begins tonight in the Comerica jungle. The Tigers are well on their way to clinching the American League Central crown. The Twins are on their way to being ready for next spring. Meanwhile, the Tigers have to vie for a World Series, where they might face the Phillies.
