Fargo, ND. On Friday night, the Sheriff had a chance to watch the best team in the FCS, and he nearly had the score pinned right on. I had thought going into the game, it would be 24-20 Bison, and the final score was 23-20. I also said that Brock Jensen needed to be key with his ball control, but that nearly did not happen, and the Eagles ran through the Bison early for a 6-0 lead. Trying for a 7-0 lead, the extra point was blocked by the Bison. When the Bison had the ball, the Eagles did the same thing in return, block the PAT. It wasn’t until the fourth quarter that the Bison were mentally tested. With the ball and only down four, with time dwindling away, it nearly was to be the end of the Bison. That is until Georgia Southern stared making mistake after mistake. They clearly had the Bison down and out, and it looked like the Eagles were on their way to dethroning the Thundering Herd. But the city of Fargo would not let that happen, as they willed the Bison and their senior quarterback to Frisco. It all stared with a too many men on the field penalty against the Eagles. The Bison got the ball back trailing by four. Enter in number 16, Brock Jensen, who used his hooves and charged in to the end zone for the game winner. This was a my-oh-my moment. I happened to be watching the whole game, and thinking to myself, the Bison have one more magical run in them, and sure enough, they did. They will face Sam Houston State on January 5 for the right to put a number two title on the books.
