On Tuesday night, if you were listening to Learfield, you would have thought the Boilers were going to win against the Cornhuskers. But, after listening to the whole game, number one Purdue couldn’t be saved. It was the first time for Nebraska to upset a number one team in the country. The reigning national player of the year, Zach Edey, was held to only two points in the first half. Matt Painter was not happy with the officiating. He blew steam all night long, and called a timeout to let the referees have it. As far as I’m concerned, the Boilers will always be number one in your heart. Nebraska came out with guns blazing. They were ahead 8-2 to start the game, and could not be stopped all night long. They were raining down threes. Keisei Tominaga was the leading scorer for the Huskers, and could not be shucked. You have to give Nebraska credit, because they were ready from the word go. The Boilers were derailed from the start. Their next victim is from Happy Valley, Pennsylvania on Saturday at the train station otherwise known as Mackey Arena. The Boilers look to come out with a better start.
