On Saturday, it looked like VFW East as the Bobcats muzzled the doggies. About the only thing making noise was a group led by the eleven year bench boss of the Bobcats, Layne Sedevie. Fairbanks is playing in a makeshift Big Dipper in Marshall, Minnesota due to coronavirus. Usually when you think of Fairbanks, you think of the real Big Dipper Arena in Fairbanks, Alaska. But due to the unforeseen circumstances which are out of America’s control, the Big Dipper has taken a dip in the rear view mirror. The Bobcats were not purring around. Instead, they went to the school of Sedevie and sharpened their claws and teeth and would not allow Fairbanks to have any life whatsoever. By the time the carnage was over, the Dogs had to be taken to a local vet. The scoreboard at the Red Baron Expo read here kitty kitties 9, howling dogs 4.

Sunday’s game was a much tighter affair, as the Dogs would jump off to a 1 bark to none lead. However, the mighty ferocious fur balls would not let the Dogs have a “who let the dogs out” party. Isaac Henkemeyer-Howe would be the Sheriff’s Patrol’s number one star, as he would stave off any barking that the Dogs wanted to do. Final score here kitty kitties 6, wounded doggies 3. As a result of Isaac’s wonderful two goal performance, the Sheriff has selected him to be on the Sheriff’s Patrol when I bring you coverage on Thursday.

The Bobcats have only one game this week when they make a business trip to a hopefully cloudy St. Cloud. This is a Norseman team that got pummeled by the Capital City Kitties 8-1 on October 30. So, I expect more ugly biting and a lot of growling, led by a fiery head coach Layne Sedevie. When is he not fiery? The guy has a lot of fire in him, and I think it comes from being around Bliss Littler and assistant coach Mike Corbett with the now defunct Billings Bulls. As far as the NAHL landscape goes, and when it comes to the Rimrock City, the Bulls were a part of the NA3HL Montana League, but are now dormant, and this leaves the Rimrock City void of any “he shoots, he scores.”
