It has been a long, irritating, quiet off season for NASCAR. In this NASCAR preview, you will find out who I think will win the Daytona 500, and a whole lot more. So strap yourself in and come along with me as I preview the season that is before us. It all starts tomorrow with the Sprint Unlimited, followed up on Sunday by the qualifying for the 56th running of the Great American Race, the Daytona 500. Some of what NASCAR has done has really irritated me, because I do not think NASCAR needs to be like college basketball. While I may not agree with it, I am going to take a wait and see like most fans across the country. The part that I like about it is that the change will reward winning all season long. So Jimmie Johnson can’t build a big points lead and run away with the title. Jimmie is going to have to drive for it. Another story that I will be interested to see is how will Tony Stewart do after his broken leg from a year ago? I would also like to see what Kevin Harvick will bring to Tony’s team. I also want to see what Ryan Newman will bring to Richard Childress’s team. I found out that Steve Letarte is leaving Dale Earnhardt Jr at the end of this season for NBC in 2015. So that leaves questions, like who will Mr. Henrick call to be the next Crew Chief for Dale? I have a suspicion that it might be Chad Knaus, or Alan Gustafson, but please keep in mind that this is all just speculation at this time. So please do not blow up my twitter with how do you know, because I don’t know anything right now, like I just said, it is all just my speculation. When I hear from my sources, then you my readers will know immediately, so until then keep quiet. Here are my picks to win for the 500 and the Unlimited. Smoke will rise again tomorrow night, because I think that Tony Stewart will win. As far as the 500, sorry Jimmie, but I don’t think it will be your year. Let’s hear it for the number two driver Brad Keslowski. He is taking the pole on Sunday, and he is taking the Harley J. Earl trophy on the 23rd of Februay away from Jimmie, and Jimmie will also not get a 7th title. Jeff Gordon will win title number 6 and retire at the end of the year.
