Denver, Colorado. At the beginning of the series I told you guys that the Wild would win it, but little did I know it would take four times for the Wild to answer the Avalanche. Game seven had its back and forth moments, but just like in 2003 the better team prevailed in the end. For Patrick Roy it was heartbreak hotel on the ice just like it was in 2003. But this time he experienced it in a different way. The last time the Wild called him he was wearing a uniform with an “A” on it and he was between the pipes for the Avalanche. This time he experienced heartbreak hotel on the bench. As far as the present, I thought the referees were really on their game. You will have mistakes, but the referees are only human. Great job by Mike Yeo for not over- reacting when the ref gave Colorado a present with a gift goal. I thought the Wild showed great resilience by coming back every time the Avalanche scored. As a result, the Wild have a date with the defending Stanley Cup champions, the Chicago Blackhawks, who can be beatable. We saw that in the St. Louis series. I predict this is going to be another physical series and whoever is willing to take body and whoever is willing to stay out of the penalty box will win this series. It will be a battle of two former UND teammates, number 11, Zach Parise from the Wild, and number 19, Jonathan Toews, from the Blackhawks. Just so you know, Fox Sports North in Minnesota will have a one hour pre-game show. If you want to watch the game you can then turn to NBCSN. As always Jeremiahboyce.com is your exclusive home for everything “Wild” through out the playoffs.
