Michael McDowell was looking in on the playoffs before he was at the Brickyard. Because of his win today at Indy, he now cements himself in the playoffs. There are two races left until the cutoff at Daytona. Next week they are in the Finger Lakes region at Watkins Glen. Chase Elliott finished the day today in second place behind McDowell. He has to get a win, either at Watkins Glen or at Daytona Beach to make the 2023 playoffs. Joey Logano already has his name in the playoffs, due to an earlier win in Atlanta.
