After being down 3-0 in their first ever Stanley Cup game appearance, the Nashville Predators scored three straight goals to draw even with Sidney Crosby’s Pittsburgh Penguins. The Predators fought back to tie the game with 6:30 left to play in the third period. The Penguins regained the lead with just 3:17 left to play on a goal by Jake Guentzel and followed that up with another goal with 1:02 left by Nick Bonino.

You have to give Nashville a lot of credit for the way they came back playing on the visitor’s ice, allowing Pittsburgh just twelve total shots on goal and not allowing a shot for just over 37 minutes at one stretch during the game. But by giving up three goals in just over four minutes in the first period, goalie Pekka Rinne made for a long night for the rest of his teammates.

The Penguins will look to put the underdog Predators in a 0-2 hole on Wednesday evening when the two combatants meet again at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.
