Downtown Detroit. Akil Baddoo and the rest of the Tigers were hungry, and it showed. Tigers Manager AJ Hinch has to be giddy about the way his cats mauled the Twins 7-0 today. They scored an extra point and a touchdown in a mauling that was coming from the Tigers after they were swept in Minneapolis before the All Star break. The Tigers wanted to dismantle the Twins and give them a present after the Twins had swept them in the earlier matchup. The Tigers are now 3-0 in half number two. Meanwhile, the hapless Twins are 0-3. It’s feeling like the Tigers could make the playoffs, if they sweep or take two out of three in every series from now on. The Twins do not have any hope of any playoff series if they can’t even take their baseball seriously. They are playing a brand of baseball that only minor leaguers would be happy about. Josh Donaldson should be traded off the Twins roster. They should have a fire sale to make room for some St. Paul Saints players to get younger players on the field. The Twins should be in a rebuilding year. It’s not Rocco’s fault. They thought they were going to be back to back Central Division champions, but it looks more and more like the White Sox will replace Minnesota as division champions this year.
