St. Paul, Minnesota. At some point the Wild have to be unsatisfied with just making the playoffs, and at some point we need to start examining the Wild’s head coach, and front office. I feel that the time is now! Last year was disappointing in my book. Losing to the Blackhawks is unexceptable. Yes I know that they are the defending champions, and have Jonathan who went to the University of North Dakota as their captain. You also have to think, what have the Wild done lately? Making the playoffs, but then they fizzle out. I don’t care if you sign a bunch of free agents, St.Paul needs a Stanley cup and they need it now! At some point the media will put the pressure on Mike Yeo. I think it is time to do something instead of being passive. I think that the Wild need to become more aggressive both on and off the ice. I also think that they need to find someone who can wear the “C” with passion. The Wild need to examine themselves right away this season. I am sick of playoffs. I would like to see the Wild get aggressive, and take the body and I would also like the Wild to be more aggressive. Not only on the power plays, but on the “PK” as well. You can’t be a good team without a strong penalty kill, and a strong power play. Look at the Red Wings for example. I think the Red Wings as a team have a really strong power play, and if you want to talk about skills, the Red Wings have it. The Red Wings have the ability to burn you when it comes to the power play, and getting a key goal in a key moment. The Wild have yet to show me the ability to get a key goal in a key moment. How long do they stick with Mike Yeo, and his system? I am only willing to give Mike one more year, and then if the Wild start this season off in a bad way, then I would look at firing Mike Yeo, and going with a new coach. At some point you have to look at the bench boss, because sometimes you will see players get turned off with the same message every year. I feel like the Wild gave too many 10 year contracts to the players that they signed last off season. The goal tending is questionable at best, because the goal tending needs to be a little sharper like a knife. The Wild need to get a spine, and they need to do it right away. They can’t let the window close on some of their veterans. The Wild’s window is quickly closing and if they want to win a Stanley Cup with some of the veterans who are very talented, then they must come flying out of the gate and take control over the North West devision right away. October is the first month of the season for the Wild, and it will check them both mentally and physically. If the Wild want to make a believer out of this website, then they will have to go 4-0 this month. I say that because they will have to go up against the former champions as well as the current champions. You might ask, why are you being so tough on the Wild? That is just simply because the product can’t be successful if they keep losing to teams that they should be able to beat. If you can’t beat the Blackhawks, then why would you sign Zach Parise to a 10 year deal? Don’t get me wrong I still think that Zach has a long way to go before he reaches his expiration date. It just matters what you can do on the ice, and so far Mike Yeo hasn’t shown me the ability that he has to be a good head coach that Chuck Fletcher hired him to be. Why would you hire a coach who has little ability to bring a brand of hockey that the Wild fans want to see? I’m waiting to see a day when the Wild are going to be king of the Northwest division, and to be honest I don’t see it while Mike Yeo is behind the bench and is the head coach of the Wild.
