On Mother’s Day, it was time for all the throwback paint schemes to be revealed. The one thing that had been missing was the fans! The fans were treated to the truth by Martin Truex. Kyle Larson made a valiant run for a win, but came up one position short, finishing behind the man on this Sunday, Martin Truex, Jr. Kyle Busch, who bloomed out last week, was forced to be trimmed back to the number three position. Denny Hamlin, who has been the Daytona King, was unable to deliver the winning package, and finished fifth. The 2020 champ still remains winless on the season, which is not what I like to see, but there are 14 more tries for Alan Gustafson and Chase to chase a win. I was expecting Chase to get the win yesterday, but instead it was Truex who was the darlin of Darlington. William Byron was the most disappointing finisher of the race to this reporter. I thought Rick Hendrick should have had a better finish, especially for Alan and Chase and for Rudolph the red nosed Rudy Fugle. I was very surprised when Truex started to run away with the first place spot, but I was overall happy with the package of racing that we saw. I feel like the field should have been much more bunched together. That would have made for a better product, in my opinion.
