West Lafayette, Indiana. On Saturday afternoon in West Lafayette, the Iowa Hawkeyes had no idea that the Boilers had plans for a death on the tracks. There were bells ringing because the train was about ready to blow. With their normal engineer out due to everybody’s not so favorite virus, they relied on a fill in engineer. Brian Blohm, who is the younger brother of head coach Jeff Blohm, was able to guide the train to a whistling 24-20 win. Brian is the offensive coordinator, so he calls the plays in to the on the field engineer, and it is his job to execute it properly on the railroad. The voice of the Boilers on the statewide radio network for Learfield Sports, Tim Newton, was about ready to explode with excitement when the Boilers defense shut down the Hawkeyes on the last play of the game. This is a team that is not used to being 1-0, so that means they have seven more games to go to smell the roses. The train looks to take their whistle blowing tour to Champaign, Illinois next week, where they will play the hapless 0-1 Fighting Illini.
