It’s time to meet a new cog on the 2020-2021 Bobcats team that is trying to hunt down the Central Division and the NAHL defending champion Aberdeen Wings: Quinn Rudrud, who wears number 11. The one element that impressed the Sheriff was the 6’2” forward’s ability to put the Bobcats first and himself second. When playing at center ice, you are responsible for helping your teammates go to the dirty areas such as the wall. That is where the other team is battling for control of the vulcanized rubber, which is the same thing that the Bobcats want to put in the opposing team’s net. We asked about how Rudrud found out about the Bobcats organization. He found out from a 2019 Bobcat, Austin Jouppi, who is now with the Bemidji State Beavers. Quinn used to hang around former teammate Jouppi, who helped Rudrud get used to his new Bobcat family. Now the 6’2” Rudrud, who hails from Farmington, MN, likes helping his teammates go after something that currently resides at the Odde Ice Center in Aberdeen, SD: Junior A hockey’s ultimate prize, the Robertson Cup.
