From West Lafayette and all across the Big 10, there is no excuse for the whistle to be silent. Part of the problem is with the Purdue President, Mitch Daniels, and some of his faculty, who refuse to put their heads together and make Ross Aide Stadium come alive with the sound of train horns blowing and Purdue Pete running around using a hammer. I’m trying to remain calm, but the city of West Lafayette is infuriating me. There is no reason why Learfield Sports has to be quiet. Tim Newton probably misses football like crazy. But, because of the Big 11 and their Commissioner, the train whistle had no choice but to remain silent. Jeff Brohm has to be pulling his hair out, because the SEC is allowed to play football with COVID running rampant throughout the south. Look no further than your own state. South Bend is allowed to play football, while they have five players with COVID. Bloomington has to be irate, too, because they are not allowed to play football, either. How the heck does South Bend rate, while all the other people in Indiana are not allowed to have their players on the field? How do you feel about that?! The Big 10 needs to sit down and put their big boy pants on, and work through this. Purdue football is a staple in my house. I look forward to hearing Tim, Kelly, and Rob on Purdue Sports Properties on Saturday. The Indianapolis radio on AM 1260 and FM 96.5 of Purdue Sports Properties has a promo about the Boilers that I haven’t heard yet. When am I going to hear real Midwestern football? Can somebody please let me hear a train whistle soon, before I come back and blow the whistle myself?
