Chicago, Illinois. The White Sox have been in thick of the Central Division race all season long. So it was time for the Twins to begin the quest for a second Central Division championship on the south side of Chicago. With Jose Berrios on the bump, you would have assumed that the Twins were in fine shape with their ace going in game one. But the young upstart Chicago White Sox had other ideas. It all started to unravel in the second inning. The White Sox began to put a rally together, but Jose was able to snake his way out of it. Enter in the young Chicago White Sox Nick Madrigal, who began to touch up Jose with a base hit with Yoan Moncada on third base, and that base hit yielded the White Sox a 1-0 lead. But the Twins said not so fast, Chicago when they tied the game up at 1-1 in the fifth. It wasn’t until the eighth inning that Chicago would take the lead and go on to win the game 3-1. Adam Engel would get your game winner when he drove in two runs with a single. Jose Berrios went five in a no decision. This setback put the Twins two and a half games behind the White Sox. Luckily for the Twins, this happens to be a four round bout, so Chicago hasn’t won anything yet, Twins fans. Don’t worry, your team hasn’t been KO’d yet. Game one means nothing as far as this reporter is concerned. The next couple of games are however equally important, because if the Twins want to go back to back, they have to answer with a counter punch of their own. It’s time to focus on game two, where Randy Dobnack will toe the rubber for the Twins and try and even the series at one game a piece. The Twins have a lot of firepower, so I expect them to be mad and tattoo Chicago starter Dane Dunning.
