West Lafayette, Indiana. Big 10 Commissioner Kevin Warren finally put his big boy pants on and came up with an agreement that will allow the media to finally cover their home town football and beyond. So those of us Boiler fans will not have to put up with Learfield Sports being silent. It should have been allowed to be busy already. Tim Newton and Rob Blackman, who were on hiatus, finally have a job, thanks to the heartless Commissioner. Whistles should have been blowing already, but were given the approval to blow again starting in October. The Big 10 was about to be jettisoned by this reporter, because they were screwing around and not telling us the truth about why Big 10 football was not being allowed to start. Imagine if you live in Tippecanoe County and you have no sports coming out of Purdue. What good would that do to the West Lafayette community? This is a community and a conference that prides itself on being able to play football on Saturday. Imagine all the money that the cities of Lafayette and West Lafayette have to throw down the drain. My point is that it’s not good for my hometown and the Purdue community in general, and some of its subsidiary communities such as Madison, Wisconsin and Columbus, Ohio. The OSU community always looks forward to playing for national championships. What I’m trying to say about the latest stunt that Kevin is trying to pull by not telling the truth is that it’s a bunch of bull. I know he’s looking out for football players, but still not even to tell their parents why their sons are not allowed to play football is not smart, Kevin. And every move that you make will be scrutinized by this reporter. Thank you, Purdue President Mitch Daniels and the Big 10 cities that we have already mentioned for coming up with some sunshine and allowing the pigskin to fly again. A note to all my readers. I usually not this passionate, but when it comes to Big 10 football and the money that the Midwest is losing, when you read the word “bull” that’s the way I feel, ladies and gentlemen.
